On 29th June a crew of Garic employees gathered together to take part in a charity Dragon Boat Race to raise funds for ‘forget me not childrens hospice’.
The race took place on a beautiful sunny day at Elton Sailing Club, Bury.
Tensions rose high and the competition was fierce as the race began. The teams ‘Garic Hybrid Heros’ and ‘Garic Eco Warriors’ rowed amazingly well as they smashed through each round beating the other teams!
They even lost a crew member along the way with the dummer falling in the water… Fortunatly he was rescued and sailed safely back to shore in a rescue boat!
After a number of vigorous rounds through the morning and afternoon, the winning teams were announced with ‘Garic Hybrid Heros’ claiming the trophy and winning the day!
It was a wonderful event with colleagues, family and friends enjoying themselves and cheering everyone on from the side lines with fantastic team spirit.
Four thousand pounds was raised for the ‘forget me not childrens hospice’ and well done everyone who took part or supported this enjoyable event!
