The Service Desk Analyst will support the resolution (both reactive and proactive) of incidents, changes and problems throughout the information system lifecycle. This includes the classification, prioritisation and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents.

The Service Desk Analyst will keep up-to-date with developments in the IT environment and highlight new applications, services and hardware to the Head of IT.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Record and manage Incidents, Events and Service Requests through to resolution, closure and verification using ITIL Service Desk standards
  • Efficiently and effectively investigate, diagnose, progress and action all operational events, alarms and incidents to the agreed quality and targets, ensuring that issues are escalated where appropriate and all records are updated in a timely fashion
  • Provide desktop, telecoms, and network support, to include User account audit and administration
  • Communicate planned and short-term changes of service levels to Users
  • Provide day-to-day contact and coordination of third party engineers and support staff whilst
  • highlighting user training and education needs
  • Adhere to all IT and organisational procedures
  • Participate in the evaluation of new services and systems ensuring that new IT infrastructure adheres to operability and acceptance standards; liaise with development and project teams throughout the development lifecycle and conduct pre-live checks highlighting any significant events with recommended solutions
  • Provide support to external companies, freelancers and contractors connecting to network resources and systems, both on and offshore.
  • Produce and maintain appropriate documentation to the defined IT team standards, ensuring that new procedures are documented, and that suitable version control is employed.
  • Provide support and advice to users in relation to all aspects of the hardware, software and network matters.  Where necessary consult other members of the IT Team and external consultants.
  • Carry out maintenance of the computing equipment and data network equipment where applicable, ensuring the Asset database is maintained to IT team standards
  • Obtain and keep up-to-date a comprehensive knowledge of all areas of computing knowing enough to ascertain whether new technologies could be of benefit to Bibby Marine and its staff.  Where applicable, attend training courses/conferences to gain all required information.
  • Work & obtain qualifications relevant to the post, set out and under the guidance of the Head of IT.
What do you need to become a successful ServiceDesk Analyst?

Essential:
  • Update to date knowledge on current relevant technologies
  • Can demonstrable skills in Windows 10, Office 365, Windows Server, and other Microsoft technologies
  • The ability to communicate efficiently both written and verbally
  • The ability to diagnose and identify resolutions of incidents and problems
  • Experience working within an ITIL Service desk service environment
  • Experience of great customer service
  • Further Education Qualification (A-level or equivalent)
  • Can present IT concepts to business users
Desirable

Their expert knowledge, strengths & creativeness will be required to be demonstrated daily, in order to support the flow of departmental operations.

Operatives will have an overall focus on safety, quality, productivity & costs. Fitters will be required to work alongside other team members on similar tasks & will also offer professional, efficient support to their line managers.

Fitter’s position will be a fundamental role which offers direct support to the hire operations team. Operative must be passionate about working in a very busy time sensitive environment & must be able to adapt to operational change if & when required.

  • Flexible, will be required to work extra hours on some occasions, and occasionally working off site.

Work within the wash bay department, cleaning welfare units/plant equipment to company requirements in relation to safety, quality, and efficiency. The Wash Bay is responsible for ensuring all plant is cleaned and replenished before it is dispatched and when it returns to the depot, in order to ensure the product reaches the next customer in excellent condition. They are also a very important part of the team in advising on operational repairs and damages upon return to the depot. Supporting all areas of the depot, from cleaning the product on its return to preparing the product for delivery. This role is key to ensuring our product reaches the customer displaying our excellent standard of quality and ensuring it is in good working order.

You will have an overall focus on attention to detail, take pride in your work and be a team player. With this role you will need to be pro-active, self-starter and have the willingness to go the extra mile.

  • Support the Depot Manager and their team with the delivery of great quality supplied to our customers, through successful operational teamwork.
  • Work closely with stores, PDI, and yard personnel to ensure correct standard of product is delivered.
  • Assist with Vehicle loading/unloading of product in addition assist with loading/unloading of the wash bay area.
  • Maintaining the upkeep of your working area to a high standard.
  • To provide additional help and support to the maintenance team.
  • To build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance of the quality procedure.
