At Garic, we have a depot network that spans the UK, and we’re immensely proud to be supporting a number of worthy causes in the vicinity of each of our depots this Christmas.
We are delighted to announce that our staff have handpicked 13 worthy causes, each of which is close to the hearts of our employees, and of us. We will be donating £2500 within the local area of each depot, to a total of £15,000, spread out across these charities to bring some festive cheer to those who need it.
After a difficult year for everyone, we feel that giving back in this manner is the right thing to do, after all, we are proud to be a part of our communities throughout the UK.
Bury – We will be donating a total of £5000 to charities around Bury, the home of our main depot. Peel Brow Primary School, located just around the corner from the very location in which it all began for Garic in 1988, will be receiving a donation of £1000. Bury Hospice will also be receiving donations in the amount of £1000, while CashforKids toy appeal, Lifeshare Hoody appeal, and Alzheimer’s will also be receiving £1000.
The donation to Lifeshare was part of their #StreetsofManchester2021 campaign to help the homeless in Manchester stay warm this winter. Buying a hoody through them, enabled them to donate a hoody to the homeless too. We also donated all of ours to the homeless so they received double the number of hoodies and joggers. You can find out a bit more about the appeal here – https://www.lifeshare.org.uk/
Dudley – In our Dudley Depot, the staff have decided to give £2500 to the Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Falkirk – The staff in our Falkirk Depot have picked the SPCA as their worthy cause who will be receiving £2500.
Sandy – The donations from our Sandy Depot will be spread across the Bedford Food Bank, which will receive £1000, with £750 going to both the Isabel Hospice and Home Start Central Bedfordshire.
Thurrock – The staff in our Thurrock Depot have picked MIND and NSPCC, which will each receive £500, and also Guide Dogs for the Blind, who will receive £1500.
If you would like to contribute to any of these causes, we would be delighted to provide you with their registered Charity Number so you can make a donation of your own. It is our hope that our donations, along with the donations these charities receive from other donors, can affect some positive change and make a meaningful impact for the coming year.
Even the smallest donation can make a huge impact on someone this Christmas. Can you think of a better gift to give this Christmas?
From everyone here at Garic, have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
