Finding the ideal wheel wash to meet the needs of your site.

A wheel wash is an essential piece of equipment on many sites, and on some, it can even be a requirement. They are installed on construction sites and are designed to clean the wheels of any vehicles before they leave the site and head out onto the public roads.

Failure to adequately clean the wheels of plants, trucks and larger vehicles can lead to slurry, mud, or even other potential pollutants being left in the wake of the vehicle, and this can cause a safety hazard for members of the public.

They are especially important when working on sites with contaminated land or ground, and a wheel wash prevents the contaminants from spreading.

Choosing your site equipment provider

By choosing Garic as your site equipment provider, you’ll be receiving far more than just equipment from us. We’ll be on hand to help you to plan and design your site, from your welfare units to your wheel washes, we’re here to help.

Working with you, we’ll carefully consider each and every aspect of your requirements, and when we come up with our design it maximises the space available while minimising the costs and environmental impact that your site will have.

A wheel wash system will typically be installed close to the exit of your site, making it more convenient for staff, operatives and visitors to use prior to leaving to ensure that the public roads are kept clean and free from debris.

How does a wheel wash work?

We have two types of wheel wash available, either our models that use high-pressure spray jets or the model that uses a drive-through bath system.

Our high-pressure spray jet options either come with vertical or horizontal jets, which effectively rinse away dirt and debris from the chassis, wheels or undersides of the vehicle. Our jets are so powerful that the vehicle in question will not even need to stop as it passes through.

Whereas our drive through bath provides a quick and effective clean, with wheels, chassis and undersides being rinsed clean as the vehicle drives through the water lagoon. So, let’s take a closer look at the four wheel washes which we have available.

Our City Wheel Wash

Specifically designed for projects where space is at a premium, our City Wheel Wash is the ideal solution for urban sites, which have limited space and where muck or mud can cause serious problems for other road users.

The smallest powered spray wash in our range, it can be plugged into an exciting mains power outlet or powered with a generator independent of mains power. It requires a 25mm initial fill of water, although waste is kept to a minimum as this unit recycles the water in the containment sump underneath. The vehicle’s wheels pass over the 3-metre rumble ramps which aid the powerful jets and loosen the dirt and debris.

Key features include:

  • An automatic sensor
  • A small footprint
  • Heavy-duty steel construction
  • Lifting and lashing points
  • Can be surface-mounted
  • Optional ramp extensions

We also provide optional extras with our city wheel wash which include a generator, water bowser and an additional wash area. Find out more about this product here: City Wheel Wash Compact | Garic Plant Hire & Sales

Our Enviro Wheel Wash

The enviro wheel wash is the perfect solution for groundworks, demolition sites or any other sites where large vehicles such as trucks and lorries regularly collect large amounts of muck on their wheels.

Fully automated, and entirely self-sufficient, the high powered spray jets make light work of even the stickiest, clay laden mud. No operative is required, it is easy to maintain thanks to the innovative water catchment area combined with the latest water filtration technology with recycles 100% of the water.

Key features include:

  • A simple and reliable 6” diesel pump
  • Quality steel fabrication
  • Automatic sensors
  • A cleaning area with vertical spray jets

Optional extras for this model include electric pumps, water fills, along with water and header tanks. Find out more about this product here: Industrial Automated Wheel Wash Station

Our Elevated Enviro Wheel Wash

The enviro wheel wash system can also be elevated, which allows it to be placed directly onto a surfaced area.

This makes it ideal for short term jobs on construction sites with thick, sticky mud, as it offers the same heavy-duty wheel washing as the enviro wheel wash, but with the added benefits of being quicker to set up and remove. It comes complete with ramps, so we’ll work together to ensure there is sufficient space to allow all vehicles to enter and exit the wash.

Our Drive Through Bath

Unpowered, unmanned, inexpensive, and yet highly efficient, our drive through bath is the perfect solution for sites with moderate mud and muck issues.

Vehicles enter the lagoon, driving over our rumble strips in the process, the combination of this, and the movement is sufficient to effectively remove the larger mud deposits prior to entering the bath, which then rinses the remaining dirt from the wheels, chassis and undersides.

Key features include:

  • A steel fabricated wash area
  • Removable rumble strips
  • Heavy-duty points to lash onto and lift with

Optional extras for this model include water fills, additional rumble strrips and ramps along with water and header tanks. Find out more about our drive through bath here: Drive-through Bath

Our powerful and heavy-duty wheel washing solutions offer you an efficient, reliable and sanitary solution, and are essential for the safety of road users and for keeping mud and other substances under control.
